LaShanta Brice, DCLS, MLS(ASCP)CMSHCM
LaShanta Brice, DCLS, MLS(ASCP)CMSHCM, is a scientific engagement and clinical education scientist in San Antonio and holds the Specialist in Hematology certification from ASCP. She completed her DCLS clinical residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. LaShanta received her bachelor’s degree in clinical laboratory science at Virginia Commonwealth University and her master’s degree in medical laboratory science at the University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Brice is a member of ASCP and a member of the Texas Riverwalk Chapter. She is also a mentor and member of the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine, American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science, Society of American Federal Medical Laboratory Scientists and International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis. Additionally, she is also a member and membership co-chair of the Society of Black Pathology. Dr. Brice finds enjoyment in serving as a mentor, teaching all things coagulation, advocating for DEI in healthcare fields, and participating in laboratory advocacy campaigns. She is also interested in studying laboratory workflow analyses, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and publishing about laboratory test utilization.
