Nea (Moyer) Fride, MD, PA(ASCP)CM
Nea (Moyer) Fride, MD, PA(ASCP)CM, MD, is a PGY1 Resident Pathologist at University of Wisconsin – Madison and a board-certified Pathologists’ Assistant. She completed her master’s degree at University of Maryland – Baltimore and her medical school at University of Minnesota – Duluth. She received dual bachelor’s degrees in management and classical literature at Tulane University. She is a member of ASCP and the Association for Molecular Pathology. Dr. Fride continued to work as a Pathologists’ Assistant during her medical training and specifically provided frozen section coverage to rural Wisconsin as well as implementing digital pathology centers in rural Minnesota and Wisconsin to allow for remote frozen viewing and consultations. She is passionate about decentralized medicine and providing pathology resources for rural and underserved communities. In the era of digital pathology, she believes there are new and innovative ways that pathologists can support these continuously neglected communities. With her 10 years of experience at the gross bench, Dr. Fride focuses on fostering a collaborative environment, promoting streamlined communication, ensuring laboratory safety, and elevating the roles of pathologists’ assistants, histologists, and other laboratory professionals.
